Music Bio for Julia

Music Bio for Julia

JULIA COZBY has been performing as an acoustic artist since 2012. Her blend of Country, Blues, Americana and Pop music elements are clearly heard in her original compositions. She currently makes her home in New Mexico, and counts the state and its people as a huge influence on her songwriting. She loves almost all kinds of music–bluegrass, jazz, blues, early music, musical theater/standards, pop, and country. Julia has performed solo, and with Slightly Bent, Tularosa Basin Musicians Union, Cozby & Carr, and 3 Rivers, a songwriter consortium comprised of Julia, Rudy Wood and Mark Bolinger. Julia recorded her first solo EP in 2017, Glenrio. She has recorded a full length album of all original songs, due for release in 2019.

Julia has been singing since she was two. After being awarded a scholarship to the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance to study vocal performance, Julia went on to sing in the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, and cathedral choirs across the U.S. Julia has been playing the guitar since high school, and has added the dobro and lap steel to a long list of instruments she has played throughout the years, including piano and violin.

Julia has played music at venues and festivals all over the state of New Mexico, including: Roswell UFO Festival – Cottonwood Festival – Hot Springs Festival – Tularosa Wine Festival – White Sands Full Moon Concert Series – Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino – Heart of the Desert Winery – Club 675 – Vernon’s Prime – Elks Club – Grace O’Malley’s – Green House Bakery & Bistro – County Line BBQ – Patrons’s Hall – The Rio Grande Theatre – Grill 49 – Sacred Grounds Coffee & Tea – Lost Hiker – Hunt & Harvest, and many more.
