The title track from Julia Cozby’s debut album, Keep on Walking, was added to Charles Christian’s Americana Music Radio Show this week. It was the last song on the show’s playlist, garnering Americana fans from all over Europe and North America, as the Americana Music Radio Show is syndicated on 26 stations and numerous internet sites around the world. JULIA COZBY has been performing as an acoustic artist since 2012. Her blend of Country, Blues, Americana and Pop music elements are clearly heard in her original compositions. She currently makes her home in New Mexico, and counts the state and its people as a huge influence on her songwriting. She loves almost all kinds of music–bluegrass, jazz, blues, early music, musical theater/standards, pop, and country. Julia has performed solo, and with Slightly Bent, Tularosa Basin Musicians Union, Cozby & Carr, and 3 Rivers, a songwriter consortium comprised of Julia, Rudy Wood and Mark Bolinger. Julia recorded her first solo EP in 2017, Glenrio. She has recorded a full length album of all original songs, due for release in 2019.
Julia has been singing since she was two. After being awarded a scholarship to the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance to study vocal performance, Julia went on to sing in the Kansas City Symphony Chorus, and cathedral choirs across the U.S. Julia has been playing the guitar since high school, and has added the dobro and lap steel to a long list of instruments she has played throughout the years, including piano and violin.
